BROWNSVILLE – He graduated from high school when he was just 16 years old and from there he built a legacy in his career.

Joe Rodriguez walks with the help of a cane these days, but his memories are long.

“Richard Flores and I are the only two Hispanics that have been in both Coaches Hall of Fame and the Athletic Director's Hall of Fame,” said Rodriguez.

He is also the South Texas Baseball Hall of Fame and the Rio Grande Valley Hall of Fame.
