MISSION – People from across the Rio Grande Valley gather Friday morning for a final salute to a serviceman with no known family.
Honoring the life and service of U.S. Navy veteran SA George Washington Dorset, 84, was laid to rest with full military honors at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Dorset served in the Navy for two years in the 1950’s. He is the first unaccompanied veteran to be buried this year in the Valley.
