Mission police wants everyone to think about getting behind the wheel after having a few drinks.

"Would you rather take a taxi for $10, $15 or $20 or would you rather take a ride in a police car that will cost you upwards of $10,000," Mission Police Chief Cesar Torres said.

That same message is on the police department's new police unit that was designed as a half taxi and half police car.

The unit was unveiled Monday along with the police department's new No Refusal initiative.

From now on, suspected drunk drivers will have their blood drawn if they refuse a breathalyzer.

"We do it to protect our citizens. We have seen too many accidents where a loved one has been killed as a result of a drunk driver. We don't want to be in the middle of having to notify a family [their] loved one has been killed," Torres said.

This year to date, Mission police have logged 358 DWI arrests and 14 crashes, two of them deadly.
