City of Mission receives fourth ambulance for EMS service
The city of Mission now has a fourth ambulance to respond to 9-1-1 calls across the city.
The city’s fire and EMS department held a Tuesday ceremony for the $250,000 unit that they’re loaning from Hidalgo County for $10 per month.

In exchange for the ambulance, the city of Mission will also respond to calls in parts of Hidalgo County.
Mission Fire Chief Adrian Garcia says the ambulance is equipped to be a mobile intensive care unit.
“It’s got all the tools and medications to be able to respond to any types of trauma, cardiac arrest — anything of an advanced nature,” Garcia said.
Garcia says the ambulance will always have at least one Mission paramedic on board.
