ELSA – The city of Elsa took on a challenge to encourage more citizens not just in their city, but across the Rio Grande Valley, to live healthier lifestyles.
Jessica Garza is the economic development director for the city of Elsa. She says when Mayor Alonzo Perez attended a mile walk developed by the Lower Rio Grande Development Council, he was inspired to get his city healthier.
The city is taking part in an eight-week long community health challenge from It's Time Texas, in an effort to encourage people to log and track their healthy activities.
The challenge has already received positive feedback from their community.
