RIO GRANDE CITY – State health officials are now confirming a pediatric flu-related death in Rio Grande City.
Last month, officials had only acknowledged the death of a 5-year-old child from South Texas. The child did not receive the flu shot this year.
State health services emphasis the first and most important step to preventing the flu is getting vaccinated.
The flu vaccine is recommended each year for everyone six months or older.
