DONNA – The federal government is requesting access to land owned by the city of Donna in order to expand the border wall.
The city of Donna owns land near the international bridge from where the border wall ends and to where the lanes of bridge traffic lead into Mexico.
In a letter to the city, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol is requesting access to land to complete surveys, appraisals and other work that could lead to the construction of roads, lighting and a wall.
The city replied and gave the government written permission to access the property.
