CBP Destroys Man-Made Tunnel Found along US Riverbank in Hidalgo
HIDALGO – A tunnel discovered leading into Mexico was destroyed by Customs and Border Protection personnel.
The unfinished tunnel was discovered in January along the U.S. riverbank in Hidalgo.
Border officials had determined it was being used for criminal activity.
CBP contractors filled the man-made tunnel Wednesday with concrete.
Border Patrol says criminal organizations are always developing new methods for smuggling attempts, whether it is people or narcotics.
