The man who lost the Palmhurst mayoral election is taking advantage of the opportunity to run again.
Israel Silva, a former Palmhurst city council member, ran against Mayor Ramiro Rodriguez. The incumbent passed away shortly before the May 7 election.

Rodriguez won the election with 58% of the votes compared to Silva’s 41% of the votes.
The city council declared the position vacant, and Silva said he plans to run again.
One other person, attorney Ricka Tijerina, also announced she is running.
