Cameron County murder suspect arrested in Eagle Pass
A Cameron County man wanted on a murder charge has been arrested in Eagle Pass.
Rogelio Mendiola was taken into custody at the Port of Entry II by Eagle Pass Police Department officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the department announced on Saturday.
Mendiola is one of three men wanted in connection with the death of 42-year-old Genaro Urbano Gomez Castillo, who authorities said was killed on May 21, 2021, by Mendiola, Jose Alfredo Villarreal, and Roman Torres.

As previously reported, Castillo was found inside a home in Cameron Park in Brownsville with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
The Eagle Pass Police Department said Mendiola was transported to a federal detention facility in Val Verde County, where he will remain pending extradition to Cameron County.
