NEAR BROWNSVILLE – A Cameron County woman has lost her sense of security after believing she was the winner of a raffle.
It started with an unexpected phone call from a 1-800 number. The caller identified herself as a Colgate representative and told the woman that she won an iPad.
The woman provided the impostor with contact information of her family and friends.
She says the caller threatened her mother with a lawsuit if she didn’t pay fees.
KRGV’s Daisy Martinez reached out to Colgate if there is a raffle or to see if there are any complaints about this.
