HARLINGEN – Cameron County is already preparing for the upcoming hurricane season.
It is a crucial time for the Rio Grande Valley to prepare as hurricane season officially starts June 1.
The Cameron County Office of Emergency Management discussed these preparations in their first meeting of the year, which took place last week.
Tom Hushen, the Cameron County emergency management coordinator, says they’re referring to the flooding in June to prepare this year.
KRGV’s Cecilia Gutierrez spoke with a resident who has lived through two major hurricanes.
