BROWNSVILLE – An animal cruelty case in Cameron County is now linked to Benton County, Missouri.

Two weeks ago, two men were arrested after Cameron County Public Health officials seized 270 dogs and a cat from a Los Fresnos warehouse.

Now, a third person, the wife of Steven Woodington, has also been arrested.

The Benton County sheriff says Tiffany Woodington is now charged with several counts of animal abuse.

“My understanding is that the husband in Texas was shipping animals to Missouri,” said Benton County Sheriff Eric Knox.

Knox says a call from Cameron County led them to Tiffany and when they arrived to her address they found 38 dogs and a cat alive, but in poor condition.
