Brownsville Woman Left with Damaged Bath Tub, Contractor Shutdown

BROWNSVILLE – A woman in Brownsville is frustrated after the contractor left her bathtub cracked; she says they are no longer answering her calls.

Orelia Lerma decided to refinish her porcelain tub with Spencer Hansen from Miracle Method Surface Refinishing in McAllen.

She says she fired Hansen in Oct. 2017 and paid him $600, including a five-year warranty.

Lerma says she discovered a crack in the tub in Dec. 2018; she worries it will get bigger and cause a major expense.

"They'll promise you good work but you never know because they are here today, gone tomorrow," she says.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to Miracle Methods Surfacing Refinishing’s corporate headquarters.

They confirmed the franchise is independently owned and operated by Spencer Hansen is shutdown.

They add he is legally liable for the warranty work.
