FALFURRIAS – Brooks County has been denied assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for June’s floods.
Elected representatives say the county should have qualified for help. They’re now reviewing the FEMA application.
“We’re starting to put a plan together. We're going to put a final demand letter together with them for areas south of Falfurrias," says Congressman Vicente Gonzalez. "And if we can't get something resolved, that may be the last avenue that you have left. And we may have to really consider that because I think communities in South Texas have been treated unfairly."
