WESLACO - A local BBVA Compass bank branch awarded two free tickets to Super Bowl 51 to one of their customers.

Sandra Ramirez said all she did was simply swipe her debit card.

A bank executive, Juan Garcia, said they wanted to give BBVA Compass Bank customers easier access to their money. He said the bank is paying for every part of the Ramirez’s trip.

“It’s estimated about $1,800. I’m excited that it’s someone from the Valley who took it,” he said.

Ramirez joked her husband might be chosen to attend the Feb. 5 game.

“There’s a long list but if he does good, he’s the one going,” she teased.
