Aunt of Murdered Valley Teenager Speaks Out About Unsolved Case
RIO HONDO – The aunt of a murdered Rio Grande Valley teenager is voicing her fears about the unsolved killing.
Nahomi Rodriguez went missing on July 16, 2017 after her shift at a Harlingen McDonalds.
Enedina Sanchez says her greatest hope is to learn what happened to her niece.
Sanchez says it's been over a year since she or her brother last heard from investigators about her niece's case.
She says her greatest fear is that the case would turn cold.
Sanchez says she fears that in the transition into a new police chief the department will lose sight of the case.
A Harlingen Police Department representative said the department's handling of each case will remain the same.
He assures the hiring of a new police chief will not hinder the investigation.
