SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – AEP Texas crews are predicting a longer wait time until the transmission lines damaged in Sunday night’s storm are completely repaired at South Padre Island.

It’s the third day Padre Boulevard has been closed.

Initially, AEP estimated they’d be complete repairing the 31 downed transmission poles by Friday – now they’re saying Saturday.

Right now, crews have rerouted customers to a different power source, a temporary fix.

Wednesday was the first full day power was restored, but business isn’t flowing as fast as the power.
