ALAMO – A car accident involving a Hidalgo County fire marshal is under investigation.
The incident happened in San Juan when the fire marshal was responding to a bomb threat in Alamo on Thursday.
The fire marshal was hit at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and East Frontage Road because a driver did not move out of the way.
Police cited the other driver for failing to yield the right of way.
San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez says the case is still open to make sure the fire marshal was following the rules of the road as well.
KRGV’s Angelo Vargas spoke with Gonzalez about the rules drivers must follow during an emergency response situation.
