MCALLEN – A couple of Rio Grande Valley holiday mysteries CHANNEL 5 NEWS has covered before. One involves a tree and the other a small cross.

A mystery tree along Expressway 83 in McAllen continues to stand tall and alone with only remnants of about half a dozen Christmas ornaments we hung three years ago.

The ornaments are barely clinging to the branches.

Then in La Joya, a small-wooden cross placed on the property of a school decades ago has now disappeared.

Rick Diaz searched for any remains or pieces of the ornaments and the cross, but unfortunately found little to nothing.
