2 Rio Grande City CISD Employees Charged for Falsifying Timecards
RIO GRANDE CITY – Two Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District employees turned themselves in after being accused of lying on time cards.
The employees are a mother and daughter who gave themselves up to investigators of the Starr County Special Crimes Unit on Tuesday.
Leslie Bazan, 38, of Rio Grande City, is facing 14 counts of tampering with a governmental record.
According to Starr County Attorney's Office liaison Brenda Lee, it alleged Leslie Bazan was falsifying time sheets for Ashley Bazan.
The time sheets would suggest Ashley Bazan had worked days she had not.
Both were arraigned and received bonds.
The daughter who is facing a theft charge was issued a bond for $1,500; she paid and is out of custody.
Leslie Bazan was also released on a $5,000 bond for each charge.
