Palmview, TX (KRGV) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash that killed two men at an intersection north of Palmview in Hidalgo County on Sunday.

Leobardo Adan Garza, 53, of Mission, and Margarito Vasquez Cano, 36, also of Mission, both died at the scene.

The crash occurred on FM 1924 and Minnesota Road at approximately 5:09 p.m.

According to DPS, a 2006 Toyota Tundra was heading northbound on Minnesota Road approaching FM 1924. A 2018 Ford F-150 was heading eastbound on FM 1924 approaching Minnesota Road.

The driver of the Toyota ran a red light at the intersection and hit the Ford. DPS identified Cano as the driver of the Toyota and Garza was the driver of the Ford.

DPS troopers continue to investigate the crash.
