NEAR SARITA – A 1200-acre brush fire in Kenedy County was extinguished, according to the Edinburg Fire Department.
Officials say several Rio Grande Valley fire departments assisted in the blaze.
Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider says crews worked against strong winds up until 2 a.m. Thursday.
The cause of the blaze is unknown.
