MCALLEN – An investigation is underway into a fire that broke out inside a McAllen hotel.
According to McAllen Fire Chief Rafael Balderas, people were inside the Texas Inn Downtown Hotel when the fire broke out before 7 a.m. Monday.
He says firefighters worked on rescuing guests and putting out the flames at the building located on the 1400 block of East Jackson Avenue.
We’re told one person was taken to the hospital; their condition unknown.
Balderas says the hotel is not a total loss but there are a number of rooms with fire and smoke damage.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
