UPDATE (5p.m.): Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a funeral home in Harlingen.

Harlingen Fire Chief Roy Rubio says the fire broke out on the second floor of Trinity Funeral Home.

For several hours, police blocked off 11th and 10th streets near Harrison Avenue.

He says the flames were contained quickly but plenty of smoke was trapped inside the building; it took several hours to release it.

The funeral home owner, Freddy Elizondo, says workers acted quickly but the fire was just too much.
