MISSION – Authorities responded to a reported warehouse explosion near Mission.

Multiple emergency agencies arrived on the scene of FM 2221, east of Iowa Road, including fire departments from Palmview and Alton.

Hidalgo County Fire Marshal Investigator John Franz confirmed two tractor trailers parked next to each other were fully engulfed in flames. Both are owned by Hidalgo County.

According to Franz, they do not suspect arson at this time.

No one working at the scene when the fire started. No injuries were reported.

The reports of an explosion were attributed to sound of the tires popping.
