CLOSURES/CANCELLATIONS

Valley Diagnostic Clinic. P.A. in Harlingen will be closed Thursday, September 11. It will stay closed Friday and Saturday, due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Ike.

The clinic will resume regular office hours Monday, September 15.

Mercedes Health Fair, which was scheduled for Saturday, will be postponed for a later date.

Cancellation of Immigration Hearings/Court closures due to Hurricane Ike:

  • Port Isabel is closed until repairs on the facility are completed.

  • The juvenile dockets in Harlingen for September 11 and 12, 2008, will not be conducted, as the juveniles who are in shelters are being moved out.

  • Cases on the Willacy County docket for September 11 and 12, 2008, will not be heard.

  • The nondetained docket in Harlingen for September 11 and 12, 2008, will not be heard.

  • The detained docket in Houston for September 11 and 12, 2008, will not be heard.

  • The Houston Immigration Court and the Houston Service Processing Center Court will be closed September 12.

UNITIL FURTHER NOTICE, even though the indicated hearings have been cancelled, the Harlingen Immigration Court will remain open Thursday and Friday, September 11 and 12.
SCHOOL CLOSURES

Progreso ISD will have early release for all schools at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Santa Rosa ISD will have early release Friday, September 12, due potential severe weather. The release schedule is as follows:

  • Pre-K - 2nd grade at 11:30 a.m.
  • 3rd - 5th at 12:15 p.m.
  • 6th - 12th at 12:30 p.m.
  • All staff will be released at 1 p.m.

Starting Friday at 4 p.m.
