Cadets Building Home
Teens working for over six months on house
SAN BENITO - A quarter-million-dollar grant is helping the San Benito juvenile boot camp help the community.
Cadets in the program are developing building skills, by putting up a house for a needy family.
The teens have been working for more than six months on the house. All of it was made possible by a $250,000 grant by Texas Workforce Solutions.
The grant money is being used to buy supplies, hire staff, and even pay the cadets.
The house will be donated to a needy couple from Hidalgo County once it's finished.
