Water tests show contamination

Cameron County – Test results on standing water taken from a neighborhood off FM 506 between La Feria and Santa Rosa come back positive. Results show fecal matter in the water.

Cameron County Commissioner Edna Tamayo says the county is aware of the dirty water and will continue to do their best to pump out the standing water.

Tamayo adds, "Who knows what else is there as far as disease goes. So it's a very important issue to focus on."

More tests are being conducted on the faucet water. We'll keep you update on those results next week.
